La Santa Cecilia is a musical phenomenon that has toured from coast to coast, collaborated with Elvis Costello, appeared on TV program Conan. La Santa Cecilia is composed of accordionist and requinto player José "Pepe" Carlos, bassist Alex Bendaña, percussionist Miguel "Oso" Ramírez, and vocalist "La Marisoul."
With captivating voice that sings about love, loss, and disappointment, the band has become the voice of a new, bicultural, migrant and modern generation in the United States, but still close to it Latin American and Mexican influences.
In 2013, it most important recording production, Treinta días, combined cumbia, reggae, soul, tango, and L.A. spice, and won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album, Alternative or Urban in 2014. La Santa Cecilia also has recorded soundtracks for films Cantinflas and The Book of Life, besides TV shows.
